Directions from Phoenix Airport

1 From the Phoenix airport, travel east on I-10 to the "Queen Creek Road" exit (Hwy 347).
2 Take a right (West) onto "Queen Creek Road." (As you follow Queen Creek Road in the southwest direction, the road changes its name to "Maricopa Road.") Continue southwest on Maricopa Road until you reach its end at the "T" intersection of "Hwy 84."
3 Take a right (West) onto "Hwy 84." Continue on "Hwy 84" west for approximately 6 miles to I-8.
4 Enter onto I-8 West. Continue on I-8 West for approximately 35 miles to the "Hwy 85" exit. (The town of Gila Bend is just N. of this exit and it is the last chance for American style fast food if you are hungry at this point.)
5 Take a left (South) onto "Hwy 85." The next towns you will pass through while driving on Hwy 85 will be Ajo, AZ and Why, AZ. If you don’t have Mexican automobile insurance yet, you will be able to get it in either town. There are signs all over each town indicating where to stop. Just have your automobile registration ready.
6 Continue south on Hwy 85 through Lukeville, AZ, which is the U.S.
border town to Mexico.
7 As you leave Lukeville, AZ, you will be crossing the border into
the Mexican border town “Sonoyta,” Sonora, Mexico.
8 Crossing the Border into Mexico: No passport or visa needed, just a U.S. ID. As you drive across the border, you will see a traffic light. Green means that you can pass through the border, no need to stop and speak with the Mexican customs agent. Red light means that they want you to stop so that they can ask you the standard border-crossing questions. It is no big deal. Just don’t cross the border with firearms, ammunition, knives or any other weapons or anything illegal (illegal drugs etc…).
9 After you cross the border, continue south through Sonoyta for 2 miles.
10 You will approach a 3-way intersection. Veer left and stop at the stop sign, then turn left and continue for 3/10 mile.
11 You will approach a second 3 way intersection. (At this intersection, you will see a sign “Corboca/Puerto Penasco” indicating the correct direction.) This time veer right onto Federal Hwy 8. Stay on Hwy 8 for 58.3 miles.
12 At the “Carborca” sign, exit the highway to the right. It will take you out and around to the intersecting road stop sign, (be sure to stop at the stop sign) and head east for 7.7 miles. (Follow the sign to “Carborca” not Puerto Penasco.)
13 After crossing the railroad tracks, take the next right onto Hwy 37, then continue on for 1.2 miles to the “La Bella Vita/Playa La Jolla” sign.
14 At the “La Bella Vita/Playa La Jolla” sign, turn left onto the dirt road and continue for about 2 miles until you reach the “T” intersection at the base of the hill. Take a right at the base of the hill to the fork in the road. Go left at the fork (take the high road). Stay on the high road as you drive through the community of “Playa Encanto.”. Continue through “Playa Encanto” for about 2 miles until you reach the “Playa La Jolla” gates.
15 Drive through the “Playa La Jolla” gates and continue straight on that road until you reach the tennis court. Take a left at the tennis court to the beachfront houses.
16 Turn right at the beachfront houses until you arrive at “Casa
de Azul” (house #18), which is the second to the last beach-front
house on the left.
You have arrived! ENJOY YOUR STAY!
